We pray for what we care for and we care for what we pray for.
Prayer is asking God to come through on what he has promised (Gen 4:26; Gen 50:24 Ex 2:23)
Prayer is relational. It flows out of the overflow of the Father’s delight in the Son to us (Matthew 3:17). “The reason why God created the world and is now redeeming the world is to share his delight in his Son. God created us to be his children, and he recreates us as his children out of the overflow of his love and joy.” Tim Chester God our Father loves to hear and answer our prayers (Luke 11:2; 5-13)
Prayer is the act of a child asking their father for help (Luke 10:21).
“So many books and talks on prayer make prayer a discipline that we need to work on, so we become good prayers. Prayer then becomes something we achieve. But it’s not. Prayer is a child asking her father for help-nothing more, nothing less.” Tim Chester.
God our Father is as ready to hear our prayers as he is to hear the prayers of Jesus.
Prayer is an awareness of our need and a confidence in our heavenly Father’s kindness, power and love.
Prayer is not about getting something but knowing someone.
